Memorial Scholarship

The Coach Downey Memorial Scholarship is meant to offer financial assistance to a graduating Saintsman in their pursuit of higher education. All seniors in good standing at St. Augustine HS are encouraged to apply. One winner will be selected. Winners will receive a one-time award of $1,500.00 to support their college education at any university, community college, or similar institution.

​Applications for the 2022-2023 Coach Downey Memorial Scholarship open on March 6, 2023 and will close April 2, 2023. The scholarship is open to all graduating seniors in good standing at Saints. Please read the application requirements and how to complete your application.
Timeline 
  • March 6, 2023: Application open for submittal.
  • April 16: Application closes at midnight.
  • May 1: Scholarship winner announced via email. ​ ​​

Eligibility Requirements
  • Open to all graduating seniors in good standing at St. Augustine HS.
  • The scholarship may be used to support an individuals college education at any university, community college, or similar institution.​​

Applying for the Scholarship
  • You will need digital copies of the following materials:
  • (1) Unofficial transcript from Saints with your cumulative GPA and
  • (2) One letter of recommendation from any individual, except a family member.

Complete the Google Form Application which includes submitting a personal statement about why you believe you are a good candidate to receive the scholarship. You can learn more about Coach Downey and his impact at Saints through these remembrances:
